“I’m going to wait a little bit and see what EPA announces and how that plays out,” said Dr. John Boggs, West Virginia’s director of public health. “There were some pretty strict regulations put in place, which could be problematic.”
As for the chemical testing rule, the EPA is continuing to analyze the findings, saying that the research they did “is far from conclusive.”
“While the findings are still too early to make any sweeping changes, we are taking time to assess the findings and determine if our initial conclusions can be changed,” EPA administrator Scott Pruitt told reporters Sunday during a briefing with reporters at the agency’s national operations center in Washington.
Officials said they plan바카라 룰 to file the new rule with the federal court system, where court filings are usually delayed until early January. The new order may take several months to receive judicial review. A court could also take up an emergency appeal, officials said.
The EPA also may extend some of its existing water regulations to more rural areas with an equal number of residents. Pruitt indicated that those new areas could include places like the towns of Easton and Williamsburg.
Pruitt also indicated that he’s in talks with EPA officials and members of Congress to help make sure the regulatory rollback doesn’t lead to more pollution.
